SummerKeys welcomes the return of pianist, Mira Gill to the Lubec stage. Ms. Gill will perform a solo piano concert on Wednesday August 13 at 7:30 P.M. Audience members will enjoy the works of Scarlatti, a Baroque Italian composer known for his 555 keyboard sonatas, one of Clementi’s most popular early works, and music by Mendelssohn, a German composer of the early Romantic period. A popular piece by Chopin, Fantasie Impromptu, Op. 66, in C sharp minor (often compared to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata) will also be presented along with Concert Etude No. 3, Un Suspiro, in E flat, Op. S 141 by Liszt. The program will conclude with two Russian composers; Lyapunov, known for collecting over 300 Russian folk songs and Scriabin, a Russian composer enormously famous during his lifetime who had a condition called Synesthesia which mixes up the senses so that he thought in colors which represented tones or keys in music.
