Non-readers and readers ages 4 through 11 are invited to the kick-off party for the Blue Hill Public Library summer reading program on Saturday June 21st from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. The party will be hosted by a mad scientist who will do some exciting science experiments (we hope without blowing up the Library) and create some sparks with fun games to play. Terrific scientific refreshments will be served.

Kids can sign up for the summer reading program at the party and power up with books. This year’s theme is “Fizz, Boom, Read!”—which means all things science. Every week there will be a Sensational Saturday Science event when kids can electrify their minds with hands-on science explorations. Kids in the program can read books about science or any subject and will keep track of how many books they read throughout the 8 week program. They will receive incentives to celebrate their reading accomplishments.

Kids can also sign up for the program after the party, by stopping by the library’s investigation station. For more information, call the Library at 374-5515. The program is free of charge thanks to the Friends of The Library.
