Sue Smith appointed acting regional correctional administrator, Region 2, juvenile

AUGUSTA and AUBURN, Maine — Sue Smith has been appointed acting regional correctional administrator for Region 2, juvenile, effective Aug. 26, according to Maine Department of Corrections.

 “It is my pleasure to announce that Ms. Sue Smith has been appointed as Acting Regional Correctional Administrator, Region 2 – Juvenile,” said Maine Department of Corrections Associate Commissioner Joseph Fitzpatrick in a prepared statement. “Sue has always taken a leadership role in every position she has held. These varied duties and years of experience will serve her well in her new role.”

Smith earned her degree in Early Childhood Education and started her career at Maine Youth Center in 1999. She has been with Maine Department of Corrections for 14 years, and has held the positions of juvenile community corrections officer, field training officer, and most recently, regional correctional manager of Region 2 — juvenile. 

Region 2 covers Androscoggin, Oxford, Kennebec, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox counties with 16 Juvenile Community Corrections Officers, three clerical staff, and two Regional Correctional managers.
