STONINGTON, Maine — Opera House Arts will present Prince Edward Island’s 10 Strings and a Goat Skin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Stonington Opera House, 1 Opera House Lane, as the penultimate presentation in its weekly Live! For $5 series. This young, bilingual trad/folk/fusion trio celebrates the music of the Irish, Acadien French and Maritime cultures. Integrating modern and world rhythms with traditional and original tunes, 10 Strings and a Goat Skin was awarded MUSIC PEI’s 2012 Roots Traditional Recording of the Year and has been nominated for 2012 ECMA Roots Traditional Group Recording of the Year and MPEI 2013 Spincount Touring Artist of the Year.

“These three young guys are extraordinary musicians and they are unlike any trad/Acadian band you’ve ever heard. You’ve got to see them to believe them,” said Mike Campbell of the Halifax Urban Folk Festival.

OHA presents the annual six week-long Live! For $5 Wednesday night series of hour long, live performances so that all family members, regardless of age, can enjoy live theater for the same price as a movie. Each 45-minute performance is followed by a talk back session with the artists.
