BANGOR, Maine — St. Joseph Healthcare recently was presented with the Live United Award from the United Way of Eastern Maine. Throughout the past year, St. Joseph Healthcare has supported the United Way’s Backpack Program, food drives and increased funds raised through our annual United Way appeal. St. Joseph Healthcare committed nearly $20,000 to the United Way in 2012.
“At United Way, we are excited to see our partners step up to make a bigger difference in our communities,” says John Kuropchak, president, United Way of Eastern Maine. “Going above and beyond traditional fund-raising, the team at St. Joseph Hospital has adopted the Backpack Program in Kingman. Your support for the children in their school system goes beyond just feeding them. You are giving these kids hope. You are showing them that their larger community cares about them, and wants to see them succeed. We are proud of your work and proud of your commitment to improving lives here in Eastern Maine.”
St. Joseph Healthcare is proud to support the important work of the United Way of Eastern Maine. Through fundraising and support programs, the United Way supports those most in need in our community and creates lasting solutions for individuals, families and seniors.
