ELLSWORTH, Maine – Next Step Domestic Violence Project is celebrating spring with its first Spring Brunch and Chocolate Tasting 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 6, at Big Cats Catering, 15 Fairway Lane. This event continues our 20-year tradition of offering luscious, decadent chocolate, this year adding a fabulous gourmet meal prepared by Chef Alex Grant at Big Cats Catering. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on a select variety of auction items and enjoy a fun photo booth. All proceeds from this event directly help people affected by domestic violence. This is a great chance to show local families living with abuse that they live in a community that cares about them and is striving to end abuse.

The event is sponsored by Camden National Bank and will benefit Next Step, a non-profit organization devoted to serving the needs of people affected by domestic violence, through education and social change. Next Step serves Hancock and Washington Counties and offers a 24 hour hotline, court advocacy, support groups, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and outreach.

Camden National has been loyal to Next Step’s Chocolate Fest since its inception and they are excited about the new concept. Domenic Efter from Camden National Bank is available to speak about their commitment to Next Step as is Rebecca Hobbs, Executive Director of Next Step.
