Golf tournament

AUGUSTA — The Maine Community College System’s 22nd annual Governor’s Challenge Cup Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 4, at the Augusta Country Club. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for students at Maine’s seven community colleges and projects that support the general betterment of the colleges and their students.

The registration fee for the four-member scramble is $120 per player and includes the greens fee, a cart, a complimentary gift, soft drinks and a dinner buffet. To register a four-member team for the event, contact Marcia Schools at 629-4016 or mschools@mccs.me.edu.

Memorial golf scramble

BREWER — The Bob Little Memorial three-person scramble will be held Saturday, June 28, at Pine Hill Golf Course. Shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. The cost is $40 per person walking, $50 with cart. Call 989-3824 to sign up and to reserve cart. Lunch is included.

 

Baseball tryouts

HAMPDEN — Hampden-Hermon American Legion Baseball will hold tryouts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 12 and 13, at Bordick Park in Hampden. Any player from Hampden, Hermon or Nokomis who is 14 or older may try out. For information, contact Nick Arthers at 462-5348 or arthersn@gmail.com.
