Translations Revisited: A BBC Documentary by Maurice Fitzpatrick

In 1980, Brian Friel’s luminous play “Translations” — about the beauty of language, the diversity of cultures, and how people transcend differences — was performed amid the strife of Derry, Northern Ireland. In 2013, the play was again staged in that city – but in a place that had been transformed by fifteen years of peace. The film looks at the significance of “Translations” and asks whether its message has stood the test of time. Director’s Q&A follows. Admission $5/Free for Center members
