GEORGETOWN, Maine – Today, Maine’s Independent U.S. Sen. Angus King announced that he has joined the photo and video-sharing service Instagram.

“I am thrilled to join Instagram,” said King. “It may be an old saying, but a picture really is, quite often, worth a thousand words and I look forward to sharing my pictures – and maybe even a video or two – with the folks who sent me to Washington.”

King’s first posts include a photo of the crowd during the speeches and concert at the Acadian Congress in Madawaska, a photo of Sen. Susan Collins during the Acadian Congress parade, and a “selfie” he took with Corporal Scott MacKenzie of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at the Roosevelt-Campobello International Park.
