PORTLAND, Maine – The 11th annual Excellence in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (EGRC) Conference has been slated for May 14-16, in Portland. The conference is expected to attract executives, managers, and professionals from national organizations of all sizes in a variety of fields, including: banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, energy and public utilities, government, information technology, legal, and public relations.
With an uptick in the frequency of cyber attacks, heightened compliance mandates, and more personal client information at their fingertips than ever before, the pressure is mounting for business leaders to assess and address their organization’s financial, legal, operational, reputational, information security, and credit risk. The 2013 EGRC Conference will bring these important topics to the forefront, offering specialized and high-level training and conversation.
“Security, governance, risk management, and compliance are not technology issues, they are business issues,” said conference organizer Andy Robinson, a 25-year veteran of the industry.
Regarded by industry insiders as the melting pot for those with real world knowledge and deep expertise, the format is intimate, offering presentations by leaders at the forefront of their field and allowing attendees the opportunity to network with those of the same caliber.
To that end, attendees register and exclusively attend classes with peers from one of three tracks:
Board & Senior Manager: Perfect for directors, board members, C-level executives, senior and executive managers, and other managers at all levels for whom security, governance, risk management, and compliance are not primary job functions. Job functions include business, financial, marketing, human resources, legal, accounting, customer service, business development, customer relations, and more.
Manager: Designed for managers at all levels for whom security, governance, risk management, and compliance are primary job functions. Job functions include audit, operations, compliance, risk, security, technology, and customer service.
Practitioner: This is personnel at all levels who design, implement, and manage the details of security, governance, risk management, and compliance solutions. Job functions include audit, compliance, security, technology, programming, testing, and assessment.
The three-day event will feature 21 sessions, each of which fulfills the requirements for one continuing and/or professional education credit toward most related certifications.
Registrations are now being accepted. An early bird discount is available through April 13, and other discounts are available through many industry membership associations and vendors. For more details or to register, visit www.egrc2013.org.
