LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options (MCHO), recently announced that Sandy Nesin has joined the organization as provider relations representative.
MCHO is a nonprofit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. The enrollment start date for the plan is October 1, 2013. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP), MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
Prior to joining MCHO, Nesin managed the healthcare reform outreach and education grant for the Maine Medical Association.
Nesin received her BA from the University of Maine and her JD from the University of Maine School of Law. While in law school, she served as an Equal Justice Works fellow, assisting with primary care practice communications throughout Maine and working toward healthcare reform initiatives. She will be sworn in as a member of the Maine Bar Association this month.
Nesin is a Maine native and she currently resides in Bangor with her husband.
Maine Community Health Options is a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) created with the support of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. MCHO is a private, nonprofit entity governed by a customer-based Board of Directors, which gives members a strong voice in the policy direction and further development of the plan.
