Rockport election season starts

ROCKPORT, Maine — Two select board and one school board seats are among the positions up for election as Rockport nomination papers became available this week.

The three-year seats held by Board Chairman William Chapman and member Geoffrey Parker are up for a vote at the June 10 election.

Chapman has taken out papers for re-election. No one else has taken out papers.

The seat held by Eliza Haselton for both the School Administrative District 28 and Five-Town Community School District boards is also up for a vote. Retired teacher Faith Vautour has taken out papers.

There are also three three-year terms on the town budget committee, a three-year term on the library committee, and a one-year term on the library committee. No one has taken out papers for those seats.

Papers became available Monday at the town office and must be turned by April 25 to get on the ballot.
