Researching Franco-American families

WALLAGRASS — The Saucier Family Reunion will offer a program on Sunday, Aug. 10, that is open to everyone interested in French-Canadian and Acadian genealogy. Roxanne Moore Saucier will speak on “Researching Sauciers and Other Franco-American Families” at 10:30 a.m. at Wallagrass Elementary School on Route 11.

Those attending the talk will receive a copy of the list of Franco-American Genealogy Resources that Saucier has been working on for 35 years. Saucier hopes to publish a Saucier booklet later this year and welcomes submissions on Saucier descendants at or Family Ties, PO Box 1329, Bangor, ME 04402.

Saucier, who has two children and six grandchildren with Frenchville native Gaelen Saucier, has been researching her Maine roots for 37 years. She is a graduate of the University of Maine and was a writer and editor for the Bangor Daily News for 24 years.
