Regional Emergency Shelter Exercise

PRESS RELEASE

The Penobscot County Emergency Management Agency, The City of Brewer and the American Red Cross will be conducting an exercise to test the Red Cross’s ability to open, operate and manage an emergency shelter. The Brewer Fire Department along with Penobscot County Emergency Management and The Pine Tree Chapter of the Red Cross has been involved in the planning of this shelter exercise for several months. The exercise will be located at the Brewer Auditorium, which is one of Penobscot County’s regional shelters. Local boy scout troops have volunteered to play the role as shelter clientele. The exercise will begin at 6pm on Friday, October 25th and end at approximately 7am on Saturday morning, the 26th.
