Posted March 14, 2013, at 5:20 p.m.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H., and PORTLAND, Maine  – R.M. Davis, Inc., northern New England’s largest independent nationally recognized wealth management firm, recently signed a lease on office space at One Harbour Place in Portsmouth.

Entering this new market demonstrates the company’s strong commitment to deliver its signature blend of personal service and attention for existing and prospective clients. Two of the firm’s seasoned financial professionals plan to transition their offices to the new space later this month.

Michael Hanlon and Matthew McFarland, both with client relationships in the Portsmouth area and a cumulative 30 years of experience as wealth and investment managers, will staff the new location.

“This is an exciting and important first-time investment for our employee-owned company that supports the demand we are seeing for our level of discretionary services,” said Robert “Mal” Davis, company founder and CEO whose family roots in York span centuries.

“This move brings us closer to our expanding client base in the Seacoast and North Shore markets, provides new opportunities for growth and allows us to increase our involvement in the local community. More importantly, it addresses a need in that market for a strong investment advisory firm of our scale, depth and experience.”

R. M. Davis is known for its time-tested investment discipline, comprehensive financial planning and wealth management counsel, and professional trust services. Beyond its Portland, Maine headquarters, this new office will be the company’s only other location. Entering Portsmouth is not part of a larger expansion strategy.
