Quirk Subaru to deliver nearly $12,000 donation to Discovery Museum

BANGOR, Maine — Subaru of America Inc. and Quirk Subaru of Bangor will present a check for $11,958.34 to Maine Discovery Museum, which was a partner in the 2013 Subaru “Share the Love” event.

John J. Quirk, dealer principal, Quirk Subaru of Bangor, will make the presentation at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at the museum, 74 Main St.

From Nov. 21, 2013, to Jan. 2, customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru vehicle could select from a list of charities to receive a donation of $250 from SOA. This year, Subaru of America Inc. donated $10 million to participating charities. Over the last six years,SOA has donated $35 million to a number of worthy causes through the “Share the Love” event.

SOA selected the five national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals On Wheels Association of America®, National Park Foundation and Teach for America. Subaru retailers also could elect to add a sixth, local charity and Quirk Subaru of Bangor selected Maine Discovery Museum as its local partner.
