CAMDEN, Maine — Quarry Hill Retirement Community in Camden played host as Mid-Coast School of Technology (MST) awarded certificates to nine new graduates of its Certified Nursing Assistant program, April 2.

Addressing the graduates, Quarry Hill interim executive director Mary Sargent said, “You are embarking on a marvelous adventure. Thank you for accepting this honor and the privilege of serving and caring for others. If you choose to work in long-term care, you will meet some of the most extraordinary people and enjoy getting to know them. I know I have.”

Four of the nine graduates have already been offered positions at Quarry Hill.

Mid-Coast’s nine-week, 216-hour CNA curriculum covers a wide range of basic nursing skills. In addition to classroom instruction, students complete clinical training at nursing-care centers at Quarry Hill and the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland.

“We’re thankful to Pen Bay Healthcare for the varied, practical experience that its senior-living centers provide for our students,” said MST instructor Marian Rector, RN. “The nurses at both centers do a fantastic job of welcoming our students and nurturing them in their training.”
