AUGUSTA, Maine — Law enforcement offices across Maine will take part in the national drug take-back effort from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the locations listed below. Making more than 160 collection points available is designed to give Maine households a safe place to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety. Some towns have multiple collection sites.
This is the seventh time in recent years that Maine law enforcement has taken part in the effort, coordinated by the US Drug Enforcement Administration. In April, 22,260 pounds of unwanted drugs were collected in Maine.
A complete list of the collection points is on the federal DEA website at https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/NTBI/ntbi-pub.pub?_flowExecutionKey=_cBFF103E1-3AAA-E353-D362-61C24AAF805A_k9F8632B1-D95F-A3E3-A11B-4A7A8EC106B6
