Last September, the Dexter Fire Department reached out to the Plummer Memorial Foundation for help raising money for a new set of Rescue tools (i.e. the Jaws of Life). In turn they offered to help by donating, dollar for dollar up to $10,000. To reach this goal, DFD had a dance at the Moosehead Trail Lodge. The band, “Shine” donated their time to help us raise money. At the dance, we also had a silent auction that was very successful. We also had two raffle items, a rifle, which Maine Military Supply donated and a 46″ flat screen TV. We then had a spaghetti supper to close out our fundraising efforts. Other donations came from individuals and area businesses. Finally, a big Thanks to the Moosehead Trail Lodge for donating their facility to have our dance and for the fundraising they did for us for nearly 2 months.
