Pittsfield Forum on Bicycle Pedestrian Planning on Wednesday, July 30 at 6:00 pm

Posted July 26, 2014, at 9:41 p.m.

Do you like Bicycling? Walking? Running?

An informal forum will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014

at 6:00 pm in the Pittsfield Municipal Building Council Chambers at 112 Somerset Avenue to discuss the importance of a plan for the Town, how a plan is compiled, and how citizens and businesses can assist. The Town is fortunate that the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments (KVCOG) has staff available to assist in exploring a bicycle pedestrian plan for the community. Community Planner Joel Greenwood will lead an informal discussion on this subject.

The Town has received Safe Routes to School Grants for new sidewalks and has utilized all available funding to put together sidewalk projects on Somerset Avenue to be completed this summer. To proceed forward with any future improvements, we need to organize priorities,

develop a potential plan and locate funding sources.

Come learn…help…get involved….Questions contact Kathryn Ruth, Town Manager at the Pittsfield Town Office (487-3136).
