LUBEC, Maine — Classical pianist Charles Jones will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at the Congregational Christian Church in Lubec.
Jones began playing and studying at an early age. A native of Roanoke, Va., he earned a master’s degree in music from the Juilliard School. He was a featured artist at the Rome Festival in Italy in 2005. The SummerKeys faculty has been honored by his participation since 2000, as have the Henry Street Settlement Music School and the Harlem School of the Arts.
Jones will play one of Ludwig van Beethoven’s most famous and most tempestuous sonatas, No. 23 in F minor, as well as Frederic Chopin’s 1837 “Scherzo in b-flat minor, Op. 31.” Robert Schumann’s “Toccata in C Major, Op. 7” is next.
The concert is free, but piano-tuning donations are appreciated. For information, visit summerkeys.com, call 207-733-2316, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
