Penobscot Valley Chapter Field Trip: Finch Fest!

Posted March 12, 2013, at 11:35 a.m.

Last year’s trip to the Golden Road was amazing – crossbills and siskins everywhere. Astonishing numbers. Let’s see what this year brings. Besides the chance for White-winged and Red Crossbills, Common Redpolls, Pine Siskins, and Pine Grosbeaks, we’ll be on the lookout for the usual boreal species: Spruce Grouse, Gray Jays, Black-backed and Three-toed Woodpeckers, and Boreal Chickadees. Bring your own lunch, beverages, and warm clothing.
