On a sunny Sunday afternoon on June 22 a group of animal lovers and their canine friends marched from the Jean H. Kislak / P.A.W.S. Community Dog Park in Rockport to the Camden Village Green in celebration of the seventh annual P.A.W.S. On Parade. The parade was headed by P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center’s mascot, Petey the Dog.
Participants in the parade collected pledges to raise funds for the support of the homeless cats and dogs in the care of P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center. Gift baskets from Loyal Biscuit were awarded to the individuals who raised the most funds. Stone Williamson, winner in the youth category, raised $233. Patrick and Andrea Benson, winners in the adult category, raised $450 for the center. Staff from Horch Roofing won the title of the largest pack. Dogs also received prizes for being the oldest, tallest, shortest, having the longest ears or longest tail.
This year’s parade would not have been possible without the help of volunteers and generosity of these event sponsors: The Camden Hospital for Animals, Loyal Biscuit, Lord Camden Inn, Prince’s Furniture, and Joe French Quality Car Care. P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center thanks the participants, volunteers and businesses for their continued support.
