Posted Aug. 15, 2014, at 4:10 p.m.

Canoe and Kayak instructor Nancy Zane, and Biology and Freshwater Ecology professor Gerry Saunders will co-lead a late summer paddle on Stevens Pond in Liberty. Set among tall white pines and hard granite outcrops, the lake’s diverse ecosystem contains lots of nooks and crannies with bog islands bearing pitcher plants, sundews, orchids and sphagnum moss. Bring your canoe or kayak to the Stevens Pond boat launch on Rt. 173 in Liberty. Co-sponsored with Sebasticook Regional Land Trust.
