Overnight stoppages at Mile 91 for placement of structural steel

Posted Aug. 08, 2014, at 12:09 p.m.

PORTLAND, Maine – Beginning Monday, Aug. 11, there will be 25-minute traffic stops on the Maine Turnpike in both directions at Mile 91 in Litchfield for the placement of structural steel at the West Road Bridge.

Stoppages are expected to be a series of 25-minute intervals between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 11-13.

All work depends on the weather. Motorists should prepare for delays or seek alternate travel routes

during the stoppages, according to the Maine Turnpike Authority. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio broadcasts on 1610 AM also will be used to inform drivers.

Visit MaineTurnpike.com for information on  projects and weekly construction advisories and

lane closure reports.
