BELFAST, Maine – Out of the Woods, a locally owned store offering Maine made products, recently celebrated it’s 10th anniversary. What began as a small store in the rear of the old Monroe Salt Works building on Front Street has become a fixture on Main Street in a block that features a fun mix of retailers from a yarn shop to a newly expanded candy store to the local Army-Navy store.

While still dominated by wooden products such as furniture from W. A. Mitchell and Locust Grove Woodworks, kitchen accessories and toys, Out of the Woods also features handspun wool, knitted hats, sweaters, and socks, specialty foods and Capt. Eli’s sodas, jewelry, lamps, ornaments and paintings and photography from several local artists.

A special 10th Anniversary Party is in the works as part of a larger “Maine Made” celebration in downtown Belfast on Father’s Day weekend.
