ORONO, Maine – – For a second year in a row, the UMaine School of Performing Arts has teamed up with Orono High School students to perform a Dancing Like the Stars event.
High school students will dance with UMaine dancers who have choreographed two performances. One dance will be performed the first night at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, and the second at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 7.
The competition will be based on cash voting with profits helping Orono High School’s senior projection graduation.
Project graduation is a parent-led initiative to provide a night-long chem-free event after high school graduation to keep seniors safe.
Orono High School’s graduation is set for Sunday, June 2. Dancing Like the Stars will be held at Orono High School’s gymnasium with WVII’s Aaron Jackson and Lindsay Mills as MCs. Judges include Rep. Emily Cain, Dan Williams, OHS principal Jim Chasse and OSH senior Jack Lucy. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors.
