Members of the Downeast Origami Society will be teaching a paper folding class at Southwest Harbor Public Library on Thursday afternoon, April 17, 3:15 – 5:00. Everyone is welcomed from beginner to proficient over the age of 8. There will be plenty of individual instruction available and supplies will be provided. Participants will be taught how to make spring objects like birds, buds and butterflies, although almost anything can be made with origami, which is a traditional Japanese art form of paper folding. The number of basic folds is small, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. Class size is limited, preregistration is a must. For more information, call the Library 244-7065.
