Crisis & Counseling Centers (C&C) invites community members, clients, families, friends, local partners and nonprofits to the agency’s On Track to Recovery 5K Walk/Run.

September marks the 25th year of Recovery Month, a national awareness campaign that promotes the benefits of prevention, treatment and recovery for mental health and substance abuse disorders. At C&C, we know recovery is a process that can’t be achieved within a month – the ongoing resiliency and strength we see in our clients is proof of that every day. But we believe it’s important to dedicate a month to celebrating the achievements of the recovery community because too many of our family members, friends and neighbors suffer with mental illness or substance abuse issues in silence.

On Track to Recovery 5K Walk/Run will showcase the importance of seeking physical and mental wellness every day, through multiple pathways and throughout the recovery process, to achieve optimal health and well-being. Following the race, we will host a post-event recovery celebration at Capitol Park with guest speakers, food and a special area for children.

Participants will have access to:

FREE event T-shirts (for adults)

Prizes for top runners

Snacks and beverages before, during and after the event

Event’s Kid Zone

Certificates of completion

Friendly, leashed pets are welcome!
