“On the Edge,” a one-person play telling the story of lobster-fishing communities on Maine’s year-round islands, will be at the Strand Theatre in Rockland for one performance only on Friday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. Written by Matinicus author and columnist Eva Murray, the play features former Maine state senator Dennis Damon and paintings by Northeast Harbor’s Philip Steel.
“One the Edge” showcases the warmth, as well as the struggle, of island life.and islanders’ determination to maintain their communities despite complex logistics, economic uncertainty, and shrinking populations. This presentation is co-sponsored by the Island Institute and Seacoast Mission. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for youth ages 12 and under, and can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/734523.
There is no reserved seating, and the doors open at 6:30 p.m.
