Emma, daughter of Greg & Cindy of Hampden , used her hot pink mixer to whip up some special treats for this year’s Cupcake Battles held at Kindred Westgate on Friday, April 18th. This nine year old credits her neighbor and piano teacher, 13 year old Alexandra and Cynthia, Alxendra’s mother, for teaching her how to bake. “Many Saturdays after piano Emma stays at their home and bakes. I don’t know the first thing about baking,” confesses Emma’s mother. Emma’s entry of “Birthday Cupcakes” was recognized as runner up for most creative design. Westgate’s 3rd annual Cupcake Battles raised $600 for their Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. For more information about the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Association, visit www.alz.org.
