There’s a new artist in downtown Belfast. Deborah Rustin Cyr is a collage artist. Using traditional sewing techniques, she builds collages that are bright, unusual, often funny and not at all traditional. The textiles she incorporates include vintage, commercial, and her photographs that she prints on various fabrics and papers. She has exhibited in many cities in the United States and in Zurich, Switzerland. A native Mainer she moved back to Lincolnville in November of 2012. She will be opening her Belfast studio to the public for the first time on Friday, July 5, 2013 as part of the Belfast Art Walk. Deborah is also the new coordinator of performers and entertainers for the Art Walk. Come by her studio at 153 High Street, upstairs on the second floor, between 5:30 and 8 to meet Deborah and see her work. Refreshments will be served
