Friday, September 27th is NAMI Night in many Hancock County restaurants. That evening each restaurant will contribute a portion of the receipts to NAMI, Maine. NAMI is the National Alliance for Mental Illness.
NAMI Maine is the only statewide organization whose mission is to improve the lives of ALL Mainers affected by mental illness. NAMI Maine’s three focus areas are Education, Support, Advocacy.
So far these restaurants are participating and more are expected to sign on….Brooklin Inn, Buck’s, Cleonice, Millbrook, Arogosta, and Factory. Choose your restaurant, have dinner and know that you have helped the cause of improving the lives of the mentally ill and their families. You might even add a donation to your check.
All donors will get an acknowledgement from NAMI, Maine.
On Sunday the 29th, some 2000 people are expected to join the annual NAMI Walk at the Southern Maine Community College Campus in South Portland. Buses and Car pooling will be available for Hancock County walkers.
