HALLOWELL _ “Morning’s at Seven,” a comedy of warmth, the first play of 2014 for Gaslight Theater, Hallowell should cause laughs and grins in a family not prepared for the unexpected .
Homer, who has been dating Myrtle for 12 years, is just now bringing her home to meet his father and mother, Carl and Ida. His aunts and uncles, Thor and Cora, David and Esther and Aaronetta are hanging on every little quirk and quiver. And they get plenty.
Written by Paul Osborn in 1930, the action takes place in two backyards in the shade of a massive tree, which is central to the plot. The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday to Saturday, March 21-22, Thursday to Saturday, March 27-29 as well as 2 p.m. Sunday March 23.
The very experienced cast includes Frank Omar, Hallowell, Deb Howard, Farmingdale, Kathleen Brainerd, West Gardiner, Mike Rowe, Waldoboro, Henry Quintal, Augusta, Julie Barrett, West Gardiner, Walter Guild, Farmingdale, Linda Duarte, Lewiston.
The play is directed by Bruce Hertz and produced by Carol Homer.
Reservations may be made by calling 626-3698 or www.gaslighttheater.org.
