Moosehead Riders’ annual Chili/Chowder Cookoff on Feb.15

GREENVILLE, Maine — The Moosehead Riders will hold its annual Chili/Chowder Cook-off as the opening event for winter vacation/sno-fest week from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15, at the MRSC clubhouse, 122 Scammon Road.

This annual event is an opportunity for local restaurants and individuals to showcase their best chili or chowder. Each vendor will be required to provide 5 gallons of their chili/chowder, which will be judged by members of the public. The winner will be presented a plaque and will be recognized in the local newspaper.

The snowmobile club uses the proceeds from this event to support their trail work/grooming.

All entries must be delivered to the clubhouse no later than 4:30 on the day of the event and must be hot and ready to serve. There are plenty of places to plug in a crock pot to keep your dish warm. As in the past, the club has enlisted the help of the local Key Club to work as servers during the event.
