PORTLAND, Maine — With the continued high demand for primary care services, Mercy Health Care System of Maine has announced that John Lowery, DO, Ph.D., has been named the newest primary care physician at Mercy Yarmouth Primary Care.
Located on Route One in Yarmouth, this office is one of nine Mercy Primary Care Centers throughout the Greater Portland communities.
“Dr. Lowery brings a strong passion for providing community-based care. He is a wonderful addition to our team and is committed to our model of providing compassionate care throughout the cycle of life” said Eileen Skinner, President and CEO of Mercy Health System of Maine.
The Yarmouth Primary Care center opened three years ago and offers the following services: primary care – pediatric to geriatric, preventative health care, radiology and mammography, laboratory, and express care. Patients also have access to Mercy Hospital’s full spectrum of specialty services.
“More and more families are in need of primary care services, and Yarmouth is no exception,” said Dr. Lowery, in a press release. “I am looking forward to getting to know my patients, as well as helping to coordinate their care and provide access to the services they need.”
Lowery cares for patients from newborns through geriatrics, and has special interests in Osteopathic manipulative medicine, sports medicine and pediatrics. Born and raised in Maine, he earned his medical degree from University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Maine, as well as completing his residency in Family Medicine at Central Maine Medical Center.
Lowery is board-certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic manipulation and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.
