BREWER, Maine — Penobscot Community Health Care is holding a medication take-back and brown bag day 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Brewer Medical Center.

Brewer Police Department will be on hand to take back unwanted and expired medications so they may be disposed of safely. Pharmacy staff, residents, and students will be available  9 a.m.-3 p.m. offering “brown-bag” checks where they discuss medication safety with patients and sort out any potential barriers they may be having with medication adherence.

The event is free and open to the public. Those wishing to sign up for a “brown-bag” meeting to review medications are asked to call 989-1567 for an appointment. No appointment necessary to drop off unwanted or expired medications.
