RAYMOND, Maine — Maine Department of Transportation crews will replace a culvert on Route 85 in Raymond beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.
The project location is 0.70 of a mile north of Plains Road, or 500 feet north of Kokatosi Road. Route 85 northbound will be closed to through traffic at Plains Road, allowing local traffic only. For southbound motorists, traffic will be detoured at the junction with Route 11 in Casco.
An approximately nine-mile signed detour route will be as follows:
Northbound vehicles: The detour will begin at the junction of Route 85 and Route 302 in Raymond traveling westerly along Route 302, then northerly along Route 121 into Casco on Route 11. From there motorists will proceed northerly on Route 11 back to the junction with Route 85 in Casco. Only local residents will be allowed south of Route 11 in Casco.
Southbound vehicles: The detour will begin at the junction of Route 85 and Route 11 in Casco, and then be directed along Route 11 to Route 121 south where motorists will pick up Route 302 easterly to Route 85 in Raymond.
It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of the day on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
