The Hancock County Master Gardener Volunteers announce their Spring Perennial Plant Sale, Saturday, May 18 from 8am – 12pm, rain or shine at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Hancock County Office, 63 Boggy Brook Road, in Ellsworth. This year’s sale will feature many traditional varieties of perennial plants and perennials native to Maine and New England. New this year: planters of assorted herbs.
Two scheduled talks include “Rain Gardens in Your Landscape” and “Native Plants for the Landscape”. Learning stations on composting and daylilies run throughout the morning. Your gardening questions can be expertly answered at the “Ask a Master Gardener” table.
Seal Cove Farm Nannyberries compost will be bagged for sale. Finally, there will be a raffle for a pick-up truck load of composted Nannyberries .
