Rockport – How do you know when your kindergartener is ready for First Grade? On Wednesday, January 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ashwood Waldorf School, a fun and informative workshop all about the “Grade School Experience” will help you answer this question and set your mind at ease about this important transition in your child’s life.
This workshop will explore the nature of the developing child and the principles that inform the Waldorf curriculum. We will also consider the following questions: What are the readiness indicators for First Grade? How does the early childhood curriculum prepare students for grade school? What does the Kindergarten to First Grade transition look like? How do we teach math and reading in Grades One and Two? There will be ample time for questions and discussion.
Teachers from both the Early Childhood program and the Grade School will be on hand to answer questions, facilitate conversation, and lead the group through sample first grade activities.
Participants will leave this workshop feeling informed and ready to support your child in this important and exciting transition.
