Making Excellent Photographs at the Eastport Arts Center

Posted Feb. 25, 2013, at 8:01 p.m.

The Eastport Arts Center presents “Professional Photographers don’t take pictures, they make them” with Gary Guisinger at 3 pm on Sunday, March 3rd as part of the Sunday Afternoons at the EAC series. Guisinger has over 50 years of professional photographical experience, working as a free lance photographer for The New York Times, National Geographic, I.B.M., and Kodak, among others, and working as a staff photographer for The Associated Press in both Denver and New York. He will discuss some of his previous assignments while working for these various publications, the complexities of making an assignment work well, and how to “make” excellent photographs rather than “take” them. Admission is free and open to the public, though donations are encouraged to pay for heating and lighting the building.
