Make A Footprint 5k and Fun Run to Benefit Disabled Children

Posted Oct. 17, 2012, at 9:29 a.m.

In many African countries, children born with disabilities are considered cursed, and are often abandoned or even killed. The “Make a Footprint” 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, November 3, to benefit Kupenda for the Children, an organization who assists those children and provides advocacy. The proceeds from this event will be used to send a mission group to work for Kupenda for the Children to assist in those efforts.

Both races begin in front of First Baptist Church at 56 Center Street, Bangor. The one mile fun run/walk is at 9am, costs $10 to register, and runs up and back down Center St. The 5k run is at 9:45am, costs $12 to register ($15 day of race), and runs up Center St., through residential neighborhoods, ending in the city parking lot behind the church off Newton & Spring Streets.

Registration form is available online at www.fbcbangor.org. Anyone unable to participate who would like to make a donation can make a check payable to “First Baptist Church – Kenya Mission” and mail to First Baptist Church, 56 Center St., Bangor, Me 04401. For more information, contact Stephanie or Ned Salinas, 945-9694.
