The Maine Whoopie Pie Festival received some welcome news recently when it was nominated as one of the 5 Best Annual Festival/Events in New England in About.com’s 2013 New England Travel Reader’s Choice Awards. About.com invites anyone with an internet connection to vote for their favorite, with the winner announced on March 27th.
“We’re thrilled to be in the top 5,” Said Patrick Myers, coordinator of the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival, “We’re in some great company and as of the last time I checked we were leading in the voting. People can vote once a day, so we’re encouraging everyone to go to www.MaineWhoopiePieFestival.com and click on the About.com Finalist logo to help us towards sweet victory.”
The 2013 Maine Whoopie Pie Festival will take place from 10am to 3pm in Dover-Foxcroft on June 22nd. Along with the vendors, bakers, rides for the kids, games and other attractions the Festival will again be having live music the day of the festival. “With the help of Bangor Savings Bank we’ll be bringing the Steve Jones Band to headline the festival. We’re also going to have the Unified String Theory and the Monson General Store Jammers on stage this year along with some other surprises,” said Myers “We’re happy to have live music back at the festival this year at no extra charge to festival goers.” Anyone with questions about the festival should go to MaineWhoopiePieFestival.com for more information.
