Who said fairy magic is just for children? The Maine State Ballet’s presentation of Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, brings the wily pranks of forest fairies and the quickly swayed hearts of humans to life in its ballet August 8-16 at the Maine State Ballet Theater in Falmouth.
With a cast of nearly seventy dancers, Maine State Ballet’s performance explores the many sides of love – true love, unrequited love, jealous love, and love at first sight, all with a humorous touch as things never go exactly as planned.
With choreography by renowned artistic director and former New York City Ballet member, Linda MacArthur Miele and gorgeous sets and costumes by Gail Csoboth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the perfect summer entertainment.
The show runs on Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. beginning Friday, August 8 and ending Saturday, August 16. All performances take place at the Maine State Ballet Theater located at 348 U.S. Route 1, Falmouth, Maine.
Tickets are on sale online at www.mainestateballet.org or through calling the theater at 207-781-3587. Tickets are priced $17-23, and discounts are available for seniors and children. There is a $5 processing fee for phone and box office orders, but no fee for online purchases. For more information, visit www.mainestateballet.org.
