BAR HARBOR — The Maine Sea Coast Mission’s festive Holiday Open House is this Friday, Dec. 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mission’s Colket Center at 127 West St. in Bar Harbor. It is a fund-raiser for the Mission’s vital Christmas Program, which provides approximately 16,000 gifts to individuals and families in Downeast Maine and on coastal islands.

The Open House will feature music, hors d’oeuvres and beverages, and delectable desserts, along with tours of the gorgeously decorated Colket Center and a chance for guests to see some of the gifts — all wrapped with the Mission’s signature white paper and red string — which include toys and warm clothes for children and personal care products, books and calendars for elderly Mainers.

And this year, instead of a wreath auction, tree ornaments specially designed for the Sea Coast Mission will be sold for just $15 each. This event is open to the public; a donation to the Christmas Program is encouraged in lieu of an admission fee.

Don’t miss this fun event — a great way to usher in the holidays and mingle with your friends and neighbors, all while helping the Mission fulfill its goal of serving those in need.
