PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, recently announced that they have hired Will McClaran, Sandra Eustis-Brackett, Chris Taylor and Erika Johnson, and have promoted Adam Skibek.
Will McClaran will serve as the Red Claws’ director of public relations and community relations. In this role, McClaran will be the primary contact for members of the media and will oversee all interview scheduling and requests. Additional roles include the oversight of requests for donations and team appearances, as well as the creation of team publications. Most recently, Will served as an account executive in the public relations department at Kemp Goldberg Partners in Portland and prior to that worked in the communications departments of the New York Knicks and New Orleans Hornets. The Harpswell native holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sport management from Nichols College in Dudley, Mass. and resides in Portland.
Sandra Eustis-Brackett has been named the organization’s office manager. Eustis-Brackett will oversee the day-to-day operations of the front office, as well as manage the Red Claws’ college internship program and team store. Prior to joining the team, Sandra was the operations manager at First Protection Services, a private security firm in Scarborough. A Maine native, Eustis-Brackett is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine. The married mother of two resides in Gorham.
Chris Taylor will be working in the ticket sales department as an account executive, selling individual, group and season tickets. Taylor started his sports career working in the operations department of the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. After completing the season Chris went on to work in the operations departments of the Albuquerque Isotopes and the New Orleans Zephyrs, Triple-A affiliates of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins, respectively. A native of Hingham, Mass., Chris graduated from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in Standish with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and now lives in Portland.
Erika Johnson has been hired as public relations and operations assistant after working for the team as an intern in the public and community relations department. In her new role, Johnson will provide support to the director of public relations and community relations and office manager. Erika is new to the professional sports industry, having previously been a personal trainer in Boston. The Appleton, Maine native received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Sciences from the University of Massachusetts – Boston. Erika resides in South Portland.
Additionally, the Red Claws have promoted Adam Skibek from senior account executive to ticket sales manager. In this role, Skibek will oversee the sales department staff and all group, individual and season ticket sales. Prior to joining the team in 2011 as an account executive, Adam completed an internship in the corporate sales department of the Boston Celtics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Keene State College (Keene, N.H.) and a master’s degree in sport management from Springfield College (Springfield, Mass.). Outside of the office, Skibek is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Maine, Southern Maine Community College and St. Joseph’s College of Maine (starting Spring semester of 2014). A native of Beacon Falls, Conn., Adam now resides in Westbrook.
