Maine group participates in fourth annual J Street Conference in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Maine contingent traveled to Washington, D.C., for the fourth annual J Street Conference held Sept. 28-Oct. 1.

J Street is a national organization of primarily Jewish Americans, which advocates a two-state solution of Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security.

The Maine group included three representatives of J Street Eastern Maine, and three students from the Bates College chapter of J Street U. The J Street co-chairmen are Todd Miller and Barbara Kates.

A photo was taken after the group had visited the offices of the Maine Congressional delegation. urging support of the current peace negotiations.
