LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options (MCHO), announced that Robert “Bob” Guerette has joined the organization as an outreach and education specialist. MCHO is a nonprofit that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP), MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
As outreach and education specialist, Guerette will assist with the strategic development and implementation of MCHO’s community and consumer outreach, education, marketing and communications. He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry as a producer and an agency owner, as well as extensive marketing and outreach experience.
Guerette has been involved in a wide variety of professional and civic organizations throughout Maine. He received his MS in Business from Husson University, and is an Accredited Advisor in Insurance. He lives with his wife in the Portland, Maine, area.
Maine Community Health Options is a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) created through a program of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). MCHO is a private, nonprofit entity governed by a customer-based board of directors, which gives enrollees a strong voice in the management and development of the plan.
