OFTEN OVERLOOKED TAX CREDIT BENEFITS MAINE GRADUATES WITH STUDENT LOANS
Students who graduated from a Maine college or university after December 31, 2009 and have not applied for the OpportunityMaine educational tax credit can still take advantage of the money-saving benefit.
The OpportunityMaine Educational Tax Credit reimburses Maine workers for student loan payments for those who earned an associates or bachelor’s degree at a Maine school and continue to live and work in Maine after graduation.
The tax credit can be applied to reduce tax liability in Maine and, if necessary, carried over for use in future years.
Qualified graduates who have not taken advantage of this money-saving credit should contact Jack Skehan and Associates for information on how to have the credit applied.
More information on the Opportunity Maine Educational Tax Credit can be found online.
