ELLSWORTH, Maine — Over the 22-year history of the Poinsettia Ball, more than half a million dollars raised have funded critical projects and medical equipment at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.

R.H. Foster, Machias Savings Bank, and WABI TV 5 have come together to present a theme of  “Royal Holiday” at the 22nd annual Poinsettia Ball to be held  5:30-11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Ellsworth Ramada. Cocktails including a cash bar will begin at 5:30 p.m.; dinner at 7 p.m.; dancing until 11 p.m.

Albert and Barbara Harmon and Witham Family Properties will supply the poinsettias to erect a 16-foot-tall tree. For a $10 donation, all attendees will have the opportunity to win a $1,000 shopping spree compliments of four downtown Ellsworth businesses. The lucky winner will shop at The Grasshopper Shop, Rooster Brother, Pyramid Studios, and J & B Atlantic.
